Do you have or need a simple website and a custom domain? How about a blog or online shop?
To DIY, you’ll have to manage multiple accounts: with domain registration, web hosting, email hosting, etc.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a tech guy you could rely on to just handle all that and make sure it stays up and running?
How about your cloud document storage? Office suite?
Perhaps you use corporate services from companies such as Google or Microsoft – companies that have no problem taking your data as their own and doing with it whatever brings them profit – scanning it, selling it, turning it over to government agencies, etc. (Even if it’s a free service, remember the old adage: if you’re not paying for it, you’re the product).
Wouldn’t it be nice if your tech guy could set you up with a Nextcloud instance on a private server, with a guarantee that your data isn’t being sold and surveilled?
Perhaps you have specific processes or data tracking needs, and you’ve had the thought “it sure would be nice if I had a database that could do XYZ” as you slog though cumbersome spreadsheets and word docs, or disparate outdated systems…
